Ilya Lagutenko spins DJ RAM’s remixes at Ibiza |
|

Ilia Lagutenko (mastermind of the Russian premier band Mumiy Troll) spent the last days of his vacation in Ibiza and unexpectedly found himself spinning records as a DJ. At a private party held before his departure, Ilia created an improvised set of Mumiy Troll remixes. The guests of the party, mostly young artistic English and Spanish people, were just meeting Ilia for the first time and were very keen to hear his songs. With the feel of the island in mind, Ilia decided he would introduce them through MT remixes. After browsing through the MT archive, he came to the conclusion that remixes (released on singles, other musicians’ discs or never released at all) could compose at least a double album. The reaction of his audience proved that the best mix for an Ibiza sunset is the still popular “Utekai” Tel/Fax Mix’ by DJ RAM, released on the single 'S Novim Godom, Kroshka!’ (Happy New Year, Baby!) in 1998.
