«Mumiy Troll» has nothing to do with the video on DJ RAM |
The major Russian rockers Mumiy Troll expressed their perplexity towards the appearance of the video for remixed version of the song “Drugie Mesta” broadcast on the MTV-Russia during the show “12 angry spectaculars”. The band has nothing to do with this video flick which was represented as an official belonging to Mumiy Troll. This remix was done by DJ RAM and will feature his upcoming remix album “ RAMeslo” on Real Records.
The work process on remix and video shot was going without any support from Mumiy Troll, that is why the use of their brand name is considered unethical. As the band’s spokesman Alexander Kushnir told the MTV-Russia was provided with betacam tape directly by Real Records with the clear description “ DJ RAM and Mumiy Troll” on it. Naturally the most known artist’s credits were aired.
The Real Records representatives were too surprised such a situation. The company’s PR manager Alexander Berger said that the promotional campaign for this video and DJ RAM’s album was indeed slated. The video’s director Sergei Karpov was targeted to shoot the picture in the minimalistic key and despite the low-budget the final result completely satisfied both sides, and it was taken into MTV-Russia rotation.
However, all announces proposing “ Drugie Mesta” ( Another Places) as a Mumiy Troll’s new video and the related subtitles only minimized the expected effect and caused misunderstanding between MTV and Real Records. DJ RAM whose album this video was supposed to be promoting was never even renowned. Thus the appeal was made and now MTV is in charge to make apologize, while the latter motivated the mistake by the technical circumstances and promised to correct everything into right immediately. In the future the titles will go as ” DJ RAM feat. Mumiy Troll“ or something like that.
